Overnight Millionaires
21/04/2011
Happy Easter! Hope you're looking forward to an extended weekend of sunshine!
When you're sunning yourselves in the garden, or traveling somewhere in the car - tune into Radio 5Live at midday on Good Friday and/or the repeat on Easter Sunday.
The show is called 'Overnight Millionaires', and I spent a few days visiting some lottery winners including one couple who won £1.7 million way back in 1995, and another couple I met, had won 10.8 million! Now that could buy you a fair bit of chocolate at Easter!
It was fascinating spending time with them.. you read all kinds of stories in the press about lottery winners; having presented the National Lottery, I've always wondered what it would be like for someone at home watching, as they match the six numbers whilst "voice of the balls" Dedders reads them out live! What would you do with the ticket?! One guy told me that he didn't want to move the ticket in case the print fell off! Winning millions can do strange things to a human.
Don't take my word for it - have a listen! Let me know what you think, and let me know what you'd do with a lottery win?!
There's a one in 14 million to 1 chance of me winning the lottery this weekend! There's less chance of me winning my first triathlon next week in Croatia! Training was going well, but my schedule recently (including filling skips) has hampered my progress. But I'm looking forward to it... The race is on the day of the Royal Wedding! I think me and the boys will be the only ones heading OUT of London! Good luck to W and K, I really hope they get to enjoy the day. Man, imagine what that is going to be like for them...I wonder if they'll close Regent St for mine? ;-)
Happy Easter
