Gethin Talks To Richard Parks....with pics!

This was at the Wales v Barbarians match where Richard Parks was guest of honour.
I was at the game with my brother in law, Tosh, and managed to catch up with Rich before the game. If you haven't been following his 737 Challenge, you must! It's just the most amazing advenuture. Rich had just completed the mammoth task of climbing Everest.
So he was 'home' for a few days before setting off to Denali! This is where he is at the moment. In fact, just yesterday, he fell down a crevasse 'the size of a cinema screen', and had to be rescued by his climbing partner. It was touch and go whether Rich would be able to continue his challenge after Everest, because he had sustained terrible frost bite on one of his toes.
When I saw him at the rugby, I could see in his eyes that he would not be stopped in his quest to complete a worlds first. If he makes it back from Denali in one piece, he then has just one mountain left (in Alaska) to complete his challenge and hopefully his dream of raising an epic £1 MILLION for Marie Curie.
On a more disappointing note, Wales lost the rugby!!!
