Remembrance Week on BBC1
11/08/2011
The BBC has announced a week long series, leading up to remembrance Sunday, commemorating the courageous effort of the Men and Women that contribute to Britain’s armed forces.
Remembrance Week will be hosted by Gethin, as he meets and interviews war veterans, active service men, and posthumous heroes, as well as those not directly involved such as nurses, teachers, civilians, former entertainers of the troops and families.
Gethin said: "It's a real privilege to be asked to spend time with our hero's home and abroad as we approach remembrance week. It's a time to honour and reflect on the heroic work our armed forces – past and present – carry out."
The programme will explore the reality of both modern and past conflicts, telling the stories of people whose lives have been affected by war.
